Ballards was established in 1952 by the late Paul Filippi, Sr. Ballards has enjoyed many successful years on Block Island – and is going strong!

Ballards prides itself on having a mix of young dynamic professionals dedicated to this challenging and sometimes crazy industry. Amongst the Ballards team, there is a common love of food and drink, entertaining and service. Staff have varied employment and personal experiences, which create a high level of combined professionalism and enthusiasm. Ballards staff have passion and the pursuit of excellence. It is our staff who have ensured the success of Ballards.

Staff are carefully selected by management, and each staff member is treated as a respected individual. Management is hands-on in the business and work closely with staff on a daily basis. There is a definite sense of family, comradery amongst the team. It is a happy environment.

Ballards team, both front and back-of-house might compromise up to 60 employees at any one time. All staff are encouraged to work in all facets of our multi-purpose resort, including our restaurant, hotel , bar and function areas. This variety of opportunities helps employees realize their forte and gain invaluable experience and growth in all parts of this diverse industry.

We seek staff that are willing to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks employment.
